Tour on Saturday, September 16 (7:30 – 11:30 AM):
Deborah Munk, our tour leader on Saturday and the person who runs the artist in residence program at the San Francisco Dump, sent along a map and some clarification.
Remember, the tour begins at 7:30 am. Please be on time! We are meeting at a parking lot and then departing that spot, so if you are late, there is a good chance you will miss the tour altogether.
Other things to remember:
1) Coffee and something to eat will be provided
2) Wear boots (hiking or work boots) and pants that cover your legs but that you don’t really care about too much – there are sharp objects on the ground and potential for yucky sliimy stuff to get on your boots and clothes.
3) If you have a camera (video and/or still), bring it
Here’s Deborah’s clarifications to the map: Once on 3rd Street, turn onto Cargo (right or left, depending on which direction you are driving). Go to the end of Cargo and take a left onto Jennings and go under the Recycle Central sign. Continue forward until you get to the stop sign and take a right. You can’t really go straight at this point because you will run into the cones that the police use to practice their driving skills. Then continue all the way forward until you find the parking lot. Don’t take the left into the scale area where all the trucks are.
See you on Saturday!
